Restaurant Review: Class 302

This week on pandagrub we are going to be doing a restaurant review on Class 302. Class 302's address is 1015 S. Nogales St. #125  Rowland Heights, CA, 91748. Class 302 is a Taiwanese restaurant with a classroom theme. For example, instead of sitting at a table, you sit at an old wooden school desk.

The panda in the picture above is named Flatty. Flatty is sitting with Class 302's menu.  Most of the things on the menu are in Chinese, but lucky for me -- there were lots of pictures.

Flatty is sitting with what I ordered. I ordered the chicken filet. The chicken was very flavorful and tender.

This is the rice and vegetables that came with my chicken. It was served in a metal tin like a bento box. It was just like the ones people used in the old days.

Flatty is sitting with what my dad ordered. My dad ordered the ground beef over rice. He thought that  it was delicious.  (He ended up ordering a second helping!)

For the last entree of the day, Flatty is sitting with my brother's dish. My brother ordered the grilled pork chops. He thought that they were very crispy and tender.

Shown in the picture above are the vegetables that my brother and I ordered. The vegetables were spinach, edamame, and baby corn.

For dessert my family ordered Taiwanese shaved ice. We ordered the mango and strawberry shaved ice. The shaved ice was very light and airy.

Class 302 was a great restaurant! I will definitely come back. Next time I will try the wonton soup. For more information about Class 302, please click here.

Food Review: Dekopon Oranges

This week on pandagrub we are going to be telling you about the dekopon orange franchise called Sumo.

Dekopon oranges are easy to peel, juicy, and don't make a mess. Dekopon oranges are my favorite fruit. They are my favorite fruit because they are really juicy and flavorful. It tastes like a Mandarin orange and a tangerine mixed into one! They are very sweet and slightly tart.

Shown in the picture above is Sumo Citrus's logo.

The pandas in the picture above are named, Tom Tom and Vinny. They are happy to be surrounded by the sweet, fragrant smell of the Sumo oranges. Vinny and Tom Tom can't wait to sink their teeth into the juicy dekopon orange..............

Tom Tom and Vinny are very excited to finally get to eat the dekopon oranges. They love how the oranges are packed with flavor. Tom Tom and Vinny are also very fond of the oranges' fragrant smell. For the full information on dekopon oranges click here.

Popovers with Strawberry Butter

This week on pandagrub we are going to be making popovers with strawberry jam.  Popovers are light and airy rolls that are very similar to English Yorkshire pudding.

The panda in the picture above is named Beckett. Beckett is sitting with the ingredients for the popovers. The ingredients are Wondra Flour, eggs, and milk.  Wondra is a special kind of flour that dissolves well in liquid.  You can find it in the baking aisle next to the regular white flour at any grocery store.

This is what your batter should like when you finish whisking it.

Beckett is brushing the insides of the popover pan with melted butter.

Finally the popovers are ready to go into the oven!

Beckett is sitting with the ingredients for the strawberry butter. The ingredients are 15 strawberries(cut into quarters), 1/2 cup of sugar, and 4 TBS of butter.

Beckett is sitting with our  freshly made strawberry butter.

After being baked for 15 minutes at 425 degrees Fahrenheit, turn down the oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 20 more minutes.   You can see the popovers rise like magic!  They are finally ready to be eaten!

The popovers with strawberry butter are the perfect combination. Beckett says that the popovers are the perfect way to start your morning.  The popovers were delicious, light, and airy.  They taste the best straight from the oven.  When you open them up, steam comes out, and it smells like butter.  The inside is soft and egg-y, and the outside is crisp and buttery.  There's nothing like it!

Restaurant Review: Fluff Ice

This week on pandagrub we are going to be doing a restaurant review of a place called Fluff Ice. Fluff Ice was featured in the 626 Fung Brothers video. For the Fung Brothers video, click here.

The panda in the picture above is named Beijing.  He is named after the city of his birth. Beijing is  very excited to try Fluff Ice! Fluff Ice is in Atlantic Square, Monterey Park.  Atlantic Square is right on Atlantic Blvd. in the 626!  Today, April 8, is the one year anniversary of Fluff Ice so they gave out free Fluff Ice to the first 200 customers.  We were the 130th customer so we enjoyed free Fluff Ice today!

The picture above shows the flavors of fluff that you could get. The mango, thai tea, and coffee flavors all contain milk.  The other flavors are just shaved ice.

Beijing is sitting with my fluff. I ordered mango fluff with strawberries. The mango was very flavorful. I highly recommend it!

Now Beijing is sitting with my dad's fluff. My dad ordered strawberry fluff with sour gummy candy. My dad now thinks that fluff is better than frozen yogurt.

For the last fluff of the day, Beijing is sitting with my brother's fluff. My brother ordered the original fluff with Oreos. My brother thought  that the fluff was too light and airy. He prefers frozen yogurt.

Beijing is sitting with the "What is Fluff Ice?" sign. Here is what the sign says:

What is Fluff Ice?

It's not ice cream.
It's not yogurt.
It's creamy and full of flavor but light and fluffy.
It's simply "Fluff Ice."

Beijing and I are looking forward to coming back again. For more information about Fluff Ice, check out its really cute website here.

Happy First Birthday, Fluff Ice!
